Working.....Kinda

So I am making some money, not necessarily in a job job, but important anyway. I am watching a lady's kids a few days a week. She has a 4 month old daughter and a 4 year old son. Today was my first day, and it was fun. The boy is a lot of fun and we got along well. He is close to my nephews age so I am kinda use to this age which is good. The baby however is a different story, while I feel comfortable around babies, I do know how to take care of them, I still don't have a lot of experience with them, so it is interesting. I think things went just fine today. Tomorrow I will only have to baby cause the boy goes to preschool. I am still looking though for a job, not worried still, just waiting on God. I did apply for a job in Dayton Beach which seems really great. It would be doing some community outreach awareness in churches and organizing mission trips that come to Daytona. The guy I talked to told me that the person that got this job would be outside most of the time which is so great for me cause I love to be outdoors, especially at the beach/ocean/coast and I love warm weather! But we will see, Im sure that if this is where God wants me He will open the doors or close them if not.
Thanks for praying for my friend Laura (Hi Laura) she got done what she needed to do last week. My dad is doing good too, he goes back to the doctor tomorrow.

God IS Faithful

So I now have some form of employment for the time being. A neighbor of a lady I know was needing someone to watch her 4 year old and her 4 month old 2 days a week, so I am going to be doing that for awhile till I find a more permante job. Im sure when the time is right God will let me know. He's not let me down yet. I heard a story this week from a friend who was making a big purchase and it turned out that he thought that he had all the $$ he needed, but was worried about the final figure and he told me he worried for about 2 weeks about maybe having to borrow a little more money, but as it turned out the final figure turned out the be exactly the amount of $$ that he had. He was telling me how he remembered that even if we forget that God is faithful, it doesn't make Him any less faithful. He is always faithful in doing what He said he would do. Yesterday as I was driving down the road and just needing some encouragement, I looked up and saw this billboard that had a verse from Jeremiah on it. It said, "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plan to give you hope and a future." (jer. 29:11) Its a verse that Ive heard a lot over the years, but yesterday it was God just telling me hey, remember that I do have a plan for you, you may not know what it is, but that doesn't matter, I know and that all that matters. That also added into a verse from Romans that says "all things work together for good to those who love God, who have called according to his purpose."
I just got a call from my friend Laura, if you could remember her in prayer, God will know why.

And I Wonder

I don't think I could ever be that person who just sits at home and does nothing all day. How dull and boring is that? This week I have spent most of my time in bed. It seems I did some thing to my back, I think pulled a muscle or something, on Sunday. I went skiing with a friend and it just started hurting. Who knows what happened. But I stayed in bed trying to get it to heal some and I am doing better so that is good. I am waiting to hear back from this lady on Thursday about the job I interviewed for. And am still looking around. Donny, my singles minister is great about forwarding me job requests that he gets from different places. I heard from my friend Carmel who is in Africa, Botswana to be exact, the other day. She is alive and well. She will be there till about April and then hopefully move on into Zimbabwe where she is suppose to be. My dad made it home from the hospital. He seems to be doing well. I think him and mom are glad to be home. Mom said she's been doing a lot of sleeping.
Have you seen the movie Open Water? Its an independent film, and it has that feel to it, but if you stick with it it proves to be fairly good. I got an email from Bart too, he made it back to Spain safely yesterday, but his luggage didn't. And also Caleb, Lindsey, and Jonas are back as well. Well enough for today....must go do more job searching......

What Type of OJ Do You Drink?

I've spent the last 2 days trying to remember the Spanish language. My church is involved in sponsoring a refugee family from Columbia. And they asked if I wanted to help out some with translating because they don't speak any English. So they got here last night, Thursday, at 5ish and we took them to their apartment and then out to dinner. It was interesting. There is a 28 year old lady with 2 kids, 3 and 5 and then a separate 24 year old lady too. Today me and this other lady from our church took them to wal-mart. For 3 hours. It was a long trip. But just think. Well, if you've not been out of the country you might not get this.....but wal-mart has to be overwhelming to someone else. In all my travels I have never seen anything even close to the size of Wak-Mart. I think that they were overwhelmed. I almost was. We were looking at orange juice and there are so many different types.....good for your heart, a kind for kids with lots of vitamins, so with calcium, no pulp, some pulp, lots of pulp......it was crazy! Just plain ol OJ is what we want! But besides that it was a great trip. They are really excited about getting started on looking for a job. I hope they can find one soon. As for me and a job....I am still searching. I had an interview this week which I thought went well, but I don't know yet. And my dad is doing better. Hopefully he can come home Saturday or Sunday! I know him and mom are happy about that!

The job hunt is still on! I am actually in Knoxville now for more than 3 days! After I got back from Boston I went up to JC where my dad was having surgery. It went well. He is still in the hospital, but that is to be expected. Hes got some weird bledding going on that they are watching, but it doesnt seem to be anything dangerous. I am pretty excited about this Thursday. Our church is sponsoring a Columbia refuge family and they get here on Thursday! There is a 28 year old mom with 2 kids, 3 and 5 years old, and a single lady who is 24. Hopefully I will get to hang out with and help the 24 year old, well both, but the 24 year old the most. The church is responsible for doing everything for them, from a place to stay, to jobs, to health stuff. So that should be great!
Until then I am still searching. There are some promising things, but I am still just putting in my applications and stuff. Nothing else to crazy is going on right now. But keep checking back, Im sure something will happen soon!

Beantown Bound

Hello to all! I'm not doing so well on keeping this thing updated. Maybe when I have more of a schedule I will do better. Right now I am in Boston visiting my friend Shawnta. Its been pretty fun. Today though I am just chillin at her apt cause she had to go to work at 445 this morning. I opted to stay in bed instead. But tomorrow I am going back to Knoxvegas to keep up the job hunt. My dad is have surgery on Thursday so Ill be going back up to JC for a few days. Sunday night I get to talk about my trip to Spain at church. I am looking forward to that.
Before I came up here to Boston, I did a small job delivering the phone books around town. That was exciting, not really. But it was extra money that I didn't have so it was ok.
Honestly, I don't know how well this blog is going to go. I've realized that I am not a good journeler (if that's a word) and on top of that, I'm not a big talker. So maybe this will be good for me. Sort of an exercise maybe. So, if you are reading this stick with me. I'm trying.
