I am trying to kill so time before I go to work. its, about 4:45 am. I've not gotten to bed yet. Last night/this morning I taught some of the folks here how to play Rook. So that took a little while, We didnt get started until about 10:30. There was a problem with one of our horses. It is really sick. The vet had to come and get him and take him to Bozeman and they are afraid that he might die. So hopefully that will not happen. But after that incident, we played some Rook, I think the guys really caught on well. The only crazy thing was the bidding. There were 2 bids of 155. Which if you play rook you know is really high. But I think they get it, and they seemed to like it. After that we played some spades and some Yuker, which is very similar to Rook. While all this was going on the clock kept on ticking by, and at 3 I realized it may be smarted to just stay up than try to sleep about 3 hours and then work. So here I am updating the blog and replying to some emails, trying to stay awake. I think this was a lot easier when I was only 20. I think I may be struggling here around noon tomorrow, but oh well, there is tomorrow to sleep I suppose. At least I can hear the birds chirping. Maybe I'll go up to the mountain top and watch the sun rise, since this may be the only time I am actually awake at this hour.

I'm in Love

With fly fishing that is. Today I got to go for the first time and they pretty much had to drag me out of the river to leave. It is so much fun! I don't really know what is about it, but its just so cool to be out in the river, not getting wet, and slinging this fly around in hopes to catch a fish, which sadly, I did not, I did get a couple of bites and a few rocks though. I am already trying to make plans to go again. Today must also be a day of 1st because this morning I went to play Frisbee golf for the first time too. Scott, one of the guys that I work with, put together this course here at the ranch. It was really fun, and a good walk. It was probably about 2-3 miles round trip. Now that summer is finally here we are able to actually get out and do these things with out freezing to death. Tonight we are suppose to have some sort of party in the Yurt (kinda like a common area), should be fun. Yesterday was a cool day to, I got to go eat dinner with this girl that works here too, that also loves Jesus. One night she had noticed I was wearing a bracelet that had a verse on it and asked me if I wanted to hang out and pray some, so last night we just talked about how things were going with our relationship with Jesus, and prayed some. It was really nice to get to spend sometime with someone who is like minded in that area. Also last night me and Elizabeth, one of my room mates, learned how to play Yuker, a card game that is kinda similar to rook and spades in a way. It was great, but any card game to me is great. I have got to teach some people here how to play rook, so we can get a game going.

Welcome Summer!

Summer has finally arrived, at least between the hours of 10 am and 7 pm that is, but that is plenty enough for me right now. And the sun is shining! The other day my room mate, Rachel and I went across the 'lawn', through the 'forest' to the creek/river to lay out in the sun for awhile, it was really nice to be beside the raging creek/river and feel the sun beaming down on you. Work has been going well also, I've been working a lot of mornings which is not so great cause I have to be here at 6am. For those who know me well, know this is a bad thing. But its getting better, I do work about 1 or 2 nights a week, so that breaks up the mornings so I can survive. Besides working we having been doing a whole lot of stuff. The other night a lot of people went out to hear this band. Its funny, Big Sky is so small, that when ever something goes on everyone will be there, so it fun cause you get to meet a lot of different people and hang out with your co-workers too. I ended up being the DD, designated driver, which I see becoming a trend, which is great, since I don't drink, I know that my friends aren't going to be on the road hurting themselves or someone else. This week, I am so excited, in Bozeman the MSU (Montana state univ.) is doing a play, The Taming of the Shrew. Its a Shakespeare play. So that will be a fun night I hope. Well, I have got to get back to work, I had a moment between Breakfast and Lunch, so I thought you all would like an update. Ciao!

A long post

I've been busy, sorry for no post lately. But I'll make this one good so you know what's going on here with me. First off, its so great and so beautiful. Finally it is beginning to get warm here, I actually got to wear a skirt today. And the sun was out. I had forgotten what it looked like. So, what's been going on. Well, we opened for real on Sunday, right now we have 70 some guests and they are all so great. It has been a lot of fun getting to know them some and talk with them. It was really nice getting to do most of the activities last week that way we know what the guest are doing. Last week I got to go horseback riding a long with the other stuff. I think that that may have been my most favorite thing, and I even had a wild horse. I think I am going to try and go out on a ride again this week. One of my room mates is a wrangler and she told me that she would take us out any time we wanted to go, so hopefully we will be able to go soon. Tomorrow we are going to go on a hike, I hope that I don't die, the altitude is still hard to get use to. But it should be a short hike and its to this place called Lava Lake, and there are all these flat rocks where you can lay out and sun bathe. Which I need to do, I am as pale as I think I have ever been in my life. Its sad. Lets see, what else is going on. The actually job is going great, I really like it a lot. I usually work mornings which is really hard cause I am not a morning person at all, but I have worked some nights and they are my favorite. My co-workers are great, really fun people. Oh, last week we also went to Yellowstone which was so beautiful. I had no idea that it was a volcano. Yep, almost the whole west side of the park is a volcano, which explains why there are so many geysers. While we were there we got into a snow storm. One min it was sunny and warm and the next I was bundled up bracing myself against a blizzard. But we got to see a lot of wildlife: elk, bison, swans, and more. Here at the ranch we have a moose and her baby that you can see sometimes. And there are always a lot of deer around too. It's just a great place to live.

Yes, I am alive. My poor computer got fried the other day. I went to turn it on and the screen went white and then there was this smoke smell, so needless to say its dead. So no more pictures for awhile. Sorry. It is great here though. The other night we went sledding. Yes, as in on the snow. It snowed on top of the mountain just a little bit, and it was so cool, so we got the sleds out and went sledding. Then the very next day what did we do? Went whitewater rafting. It was cold. They give you a wet suit, and for the first hour and half it works pretty well, but for the last 30 mins, not so much. But it was a good experience. Then last night some of us were sitting in the hot tub, trying to get warm and what happens? It starts to snow again! And it snowed a lot. This morning there was probably 4 inches on my car, and some people said on the top of the mt there were about 7 ins. I thought it was June.....
But we have been working too, tomorrow the guest start to arrive and tonight we are having a crew dinner to kinda learn get some practice in the dining room. So far so good......

Blessings Abound

All my photos from Africa are either on a disk in Knoxville or still on film, so as soon as I get them, they will be on here. What a wonderful trip it was. I'll talk about it more when I get pics to go with it. But here are some photos from my trip out to MT so far. Last night I stayed at this B&B called acorn B&B. It is in Hermann, MO, a small town outside of St. Louis. It was so great. The family that owns it are Lance and Sharla Green. They have these 6 great kids, ranging in ages from 6 (almost 7) to 6 months. They were so great too, when I got there I got to hang out with the kids some and then they took me with them to eat dinner at the local Chinese place. It was really neat to get to know this family. They are fellow believers in Jesus and it was great to fellowship with them. There hospitality was wonderful, they even let me stay by paying in stories. I shared some of my stories from my travels with the kids in exchange for a nights stay. They definitely showed how we as a body of Christ should welcome our fellow bros and sis'. Thanks so much you guys!
Tonight I am in Mitchell, SD, home of the one and only Corn Palace. A place that is made out of all corn. I may have to go give it a look tomorrow. I should make it into MT tomorrow and then Big Sky on Sun. afternoon!

6th State, 2 more to go!

5th State, and I think the state with the worst roads.

4th state. (Illionis was actually the 3rd, but I was to busy eating lunch to take a pic of that sign.)
