So about a week ago I was sleeping soundly when my cell phone rang. I didnt even bother to see who it was I just went back to sleep. When I finally did get up I saw it was my friend Jolene who'd called wanting to know if I wanted to go skiing with her and our friend Chaney. She was taking Chaney up the tram. The Tram is how you get to the very top of Lone Peak to ski down the side of this giant mountain. Its for advanced skiers only. Chaney had never been and neither had I so Jolene wanted me to go too. *On a side note, about 2 weeks before this Id broken my little toe and couldnte even put on my shoe. So for some reason that morning I thought, sure, I'll go. Once I got my ski boot on the toe didnt hurt too bad so that was good. Things were going well. It was a beautiful sunny day, there was a lot of fresh snow. It was good. Once we got to the top and started down, I immediatly fell, but it was fine. There was so much snow it didnt hurt and was fun. Until,
THE fall. Who knows what happened, one min I was skiing the next I was tumbling head over heels down the side of a 11,000 foot mountain. Then there was the 'pop' in my knee. When I finally came to a stop all I could do was scream at the top of my lungs and yell for Jolene over and over. I'd thought I'd screwed up my knee bad. But then it started to feel better, so I keep on skiing, but if Id turn it a certain way, the knee would kill and Id be shedding tears like crazy. My friends tried to convience me to call the ski patrol to come get me, but I kept refusing. Until we were still about 5 miles away and I gave in. So the ski patrol had to come for me. I felt soo embarassed. Turned out all I did was sprain my MCL, nothing to major. Just resting up for a week or 2. No surgery! Here are some photos to document the experience.
